A dryer error code usually points to heat, airflow, the door or the power supply. A clogged lint screen or vent is the most common cause, so clean both before anything else. Do not run a dryer with a blocked vent.
These meanings come from Samsung and Whirlpool’s own support pages. We also repair LG, Maytag, Amana, KitchenAid, Frigidaire, Electrolux and GE dryers.

| dC, dE, dF, do, d0 | Door error. The door is not closing or latching properly. |
| tS, t5, tC, tO, t0, tE, tE3 | Temperature error. Samsung says the usual cause is a clogged lint screen or vent trapping heat. |
| HC, hE, HC4 | Heating error. The dryer is getting too hot. Clean the lint screen and vent first. |
| AC, Et, AE, EEE, AE4, AE3, AE5, E3 | Communication error. Switch the dryer off for 60 seconds and back on. |
| FC, FE | Invalid power frequency. Try restarting the cycle. |
| Clg, Cg | The vent is clogged (shown after a vent blockage test). |
| C80, C8 | About 80% of the vent is clogged. |
| C90, C9 | Over 90% of the vent is clogged. |
| CL | Child Lock is on. |
| 3C | Motor error. |
| HC2 | Gas ignition error. |

| L2 | Low or no line voltage. Check for a blown fuse or tripped breaker, and that the power cord is installed properly. Whirlpool notes this error only shows during the initial installation. |
| PF | Power failure interrupted the drying cycle. Touch and hold START to restart, or press POWER to clear the display. |
