When a washer shows an error code, it is telling you which part of the cycle failed. Some codes are simple to clear, such as a kinked hose or an unbalanced load. Others point to a part that needs repair.
These meanings come from Samsung and LG’s own support pages. We repair both brands, along with Whirlpool, Maytag, Amana, KitchenAid, Frigidaire, Electrolux and GE.

| 1E, LE, 1C, LC | Water level or leak error. Moisture is detected, or the sensor has a fault. |
| 4C, nF, 4E | Not filling. Water is not entering the washer correctly. |
| 4C2, 4E2, CE, nF1 | Hot and cold hoses are swapped. Samsung says this code does not mean service is needed. |
| nd, 5E, SE, 5C, SC | No drain. Water is not draining at the right speed, or at all. |
| OE, 0E, OC, 0C | Overflow. Too much water in the washer. |
| dS, d5, FL, LO, dE, dL | Door error. The door is not detected as closed and locked. |
| Ub, U6, Ur, UE | Unbalanced load. Ur means the washer is retrying to balance the load. |
| SUd, 5UD, Sd | Too many suds. The cycle pauses, then continues. Samsung says this is a detergent issue, not a service call. |
| 9C1, 9C2, PF, UC | Voltage or power error. PF also appears after a power failure. |
| 3E, 3C, E3 | Motor error (on some models 3E is a voltage error). |
| HC, HE, HE1 | Heater error. |
| tE, tE1, tC | Temperature sensor error. |
| AE, AC, AEb | Communication error. |
| Cb, C6 | Calibration mode. Not a fault. |

| OE | Water cannot drain. Drain hose kinked or clogged, or the drain filter is clogged. |
| UE | Unbalanced load. The washer rebalances itself first; if it pauses, rearrange the clothes. |
| LE | Motor overloaded and locked. LG says to let it rest for 30 minutes, then restart the cycle. |
| FF | Frozen. The inlet hose, drain hose or drain pump has frozen. |
| PF | Power failure during a cycle. Restart the cycle. |
| dE | Door (front load) or lid (top load) is not closed properly. |
| tCL | Tub clean reminder. Not a fault. |
| Ed, OP | Problem with the easy dispense system. |
